When I was younger I used to LOVE to read. As I got older, reading went from being a fun pastime to a being a strenuous task. What happened to the little book worm? In high school, reading was homework and who likes homework right? Here's a seceret: I tried to avoid doing my reading homework but when it was time to read aloud in class my hand was the first one to shoot right up. I realized that I enjoyed reading books with topics that I was interested in and I didn't like being told when to read. I also realized that I became so obsessed with the internet that I didn't make time to do amazing things like read.
I decided to take it upon myself to read a new book every month. Can I be honest with you guys? I love to read again and the trips to Barnes & Nobles are exciting! Find a good book, find a quiet space and allow yourself to fully concentrate on what you're reading. I promise that you will get lost in another world and you will want to keep going back.
I just finished #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso and now I'm reading Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. I definitely recommend #GirlBoss to any girl trying to start her own business. There are so many gems in there on how to save money, taking care of your business, hiring, staying employed and firing. Sophia really hit the nail right on the head with this one. In short, this is a business book for hip girls based on Sophia's life experiences and the growth of Nasty Gal.
