I was extra hype this morning! Yesterday I started a new plan. I have been on a diet since February but I couldn't do it overnight. My plan is to get rid of an unhealthy food or habit every two weeks and when I cut something out, I will add in a healthy alternative. So far I cut off fast foods completely (unless it's a salad), unhealthy beverages, and junk food. Last year I went a few months without fast food but somehow it crept its way back into my diet. Yesterday I decided that I will have a cup of tea every morning. After my cup of tea this morning I decided to eat a plain baked potato for breakfast. That's right! No bacon, cheese or broccoli. Sounds whack but I promise that it was just as delicious. I felt a little unsatisfied so I decided to make my first smoothie! This is what it looked like after it was all done!
What I blended:
- Orange Juice
- Frozen strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
Honestly guys I was a little iffy about adding the orange juice because of an article I read titled "Don't Fall Victim To These Tricky Labels". Some of my favorite beverage brands were on there including Tropicana, Simply Orange, NAKED and Bolthouse Farms. Not only did it make me want to stay away from certain orange juices but it also motivated me to make my own fresh smoothie. How could I fall victim to the sneaky & tricky NAKED & Bolthouse Farms labels?!
I tried adding a little OJ and it came out like a frozen treat instead of a smoothie. Nooooo! I didn't want to add any more juice. I wanted to keep it as healthy and fresh as possible! However, I couldn't cheat the process. The liquid is what gives it the consistency that you want.
The smoothie came out AMAZING and it looked so pretty!! The seeds from the fruit doesn't even bother me at all.
What do you put in your smoothie?
